Osho Neo-Sannyas is a joyful approach to spirituality.
Unlike traditional sannyas, it doesn’t ask you to leave your home, family, or job. There is no need to renounce the world.
On September 26, 1970, Osho introduced His vision of Neo-Sannyas during a meditation camp in Manali, Himachal Pradesh (India) where He initiated His first group of disciples.
Taking Neo-Sannyas means staying where you are, meditating daily, and slowly turning your everyday activities into meditation and making life a celebration and bliss.
In Kerala, you can take Osho Neo-Sannyas during Osho meditation camps organized by Osho Lovers Kerala. These camps are held in various cities across the state.
During the initiation, you receive the Osho mala and a certificate with your new spiritual name, symbolizing your inner journey and commitment to conscious living.
"My concept of sannyas is totally different or, rather, totally contrary to the old concept of sannyas. The old concept of sannyas is one of withdrawing oneself from the world. My concept is that of just taking an inner attitude without any outward withdrawal. You remain in the world, you go on working as you were working, but now you are not serious about it. Now it is just an act. You are in the middle of a drama, that's all.
There is no need to withdraw -- I discourage any withdrawal because if you are not seriously involved in the world, you can be in it and above it.
So be in the world but do not allow the world to be in you.
That is sannyas."
